Sandra Bullock Praises Students at Her Adopted High School

Sandra Bullock has received some heartwarming news from a New Orleans high school that the Oscar winner “adopted” back in 2007.

In a history-making moment Tuesday, every single student in Warren Easton Charter High School’s 220-member senior class graduated, according to a statement from Bullock’s rep.

I cannot express how proud I am of the 2011 graduating class at Warren Easton. To achieve a 100 percent graduation rate just goes to show that the recipe for success lies under that roof. People who believe, people who love and support, and people who don’t take no for an answer. How lucky am I to be a very small part of this great school!

Bullock got involved with the institution, the oldest public high school in Louisiana, following Hurricane Katrina and has contributed “hundreds of thousands of dollars” for a new on-campus health clinic, college scholarships, band uniforms and the renovation of the auditorium, her rep says.

In addition to the impressive graduation rate, Warren Easton’s seniors have also been offered a total of almost $5 million in scholarship money from 15 different colleges and universities.
